Working in green spaces

Trees don’t just beautify and improve our surroundings—they also create a healthy environment to work in. Being active outdoors, in a setting that changes with the seasons and tasks that vary throughout the year, can be deeply rewarding. Our busiest season is in winter, while summer offers a more relaxed pace.

At Maarten van Overbeek, we grow high-quality trees for large clients, who are more like partners to us. We operate with an innovative approach, always striving to improve our processes. This allows our team to go the extra mile and make a real difference for our partners. We seek individuals who are ready to take that extra step.

When asked, our colleagues say they chose to work at our nursery for the outdoor environment, working with machinery and technology, task variety, and being part of a supportive team. Working at Maarten van Overbeek means being part of a forward-thinking company that embraces innovative solutions to enhance quality, sustainability, job satisfaction, and ease of work.

Are you an outdoor enthusiast who sees yourself working in a green environment? A work-study program might be just what you’re looking for. Below, you’ll find more information about our training program and the opportunity to combine learning and working at our tree nursery.

Stan and Hein Graduated

In the summer of 2024, Stan and Hein completed their studies in Crop Production and Technology, specializing in Tree Nursery Management.

Work and Study: What Can You Expect?

The BBL program in Crop Production and Technology with a Tree Nursery specialization is offered by Yuverta, with practical training at the Van de Berk facility in Sint-Oedenrode. During your studies, you’ll work at our nursery, learning the trade from our experienced team, while covering essential subjects like soil science, cultivation, and technology in class.

Last summer, our colleagues Stan and Hein graduated from this part-time program after three years of combining work and study. With their diplomas in hand, they continue to be valuable members of our team.

If you’re interested in the program, feel free to join us for a day at our nursery to get a sense of the work involved. Stan and Hein would also be happy to answer any questions you may have about the training.
